My Resume Bluff Got Me the Job, Now I’m Trapped and Terrified.

Every morning, my stomach clenches into a knot of pure panic. I got the job. The one I desperately needed, the one that made my parents beam with pride after all those years of studying. But it was all built on a lie, and now I’m living a waking nightmare in a massive logistics yard near the port.

I remember applying, staring at my resume, feeling the immense pressure of unemployment. This opening for an inventory manager seemed perfect – containers, forklifts, the whole bustling port scene. The only problem? It required proficiency in "LogiTrack Pro," a system I’d never even heard of. In a moment of desperation, fueled by cold Domino's and late-night anxiety, I watched a couple of shaky YouTube tutorials, crammed some buzzwords, and boldly wrote "Proficient in LogiTrack Pro" on my CV.

The interview was a blur. I mumbled vague answers about "similar systems" and "workflow optimization," my palms sweating, convinced they’d see right through me. But they just nodded, seemingly impressed. I landed the job. Relief flooded me then, but it was fleeting.

Now, surrounded by these seasoned professionals, every "chai break" conversation is about "system integration" and "supply chain bottlenecks." They navigate LogiTrack Pro like it's second nature, while I spend my days pretending to understand, clicking random buttons, and praying I don't crash the entire network. My senior colleagues are helpful, but I can't ask the most basic questions without exposing myself. The fear of being found out, of letting everyone down, is suffocating. I'm the only one faking it, the only one whose heart hammers whenever the system is mentioned. How long can I keep up this charade? I feel like a complete fraud, drowning in a job I was never meant to have.
